Presence & Persistance

Akeley Fine Art Gallery

"Presence & Persistence" was a solo exhibition showcasing a series of paintings born from a stream-of-consciousness poem I wrote on a flight home from Virginia. Each work in the series takes its title from a line of the poem, creating a visual language that echoes the rhythm and emotion of the original text. Through bold colors, layered textures, and intuitive brushwork, the paintings explore memory, movement, and the passage of time—transforming fleeting moments of thought into vivid, tangible presence on canvas. The poem that inspired the show is displayed here.

Poem from an Airplane

Will I be remembered, not forgotten?

Bubbles, fizz, carbonation.

Contemplation,

Daydreams,

Reflection,

A stranger close, then further away.

Behind the wing,

Through the isle,

Seatbelts.

Music escaping ear buds,

Vibrations,

Descent, farewell, hello (again).

Clouds; correlations,

Landing soon.
